Since co-founding Kern County Cancer Fund (KCCF) with Leslie Knox in 2012, Dr. Ravi Patel has been strongly committed to aiding the services KCCF provides. Through the RNP Foundation, Dr. Patel wanted to ensure that this support for patients continued not only for the services KCCF has historically provided but also for the services provided by CBCC Foundation for Community Wellness (CBCC-FCW)
CBCC-FCW has been providing transportation services to CBCC patients for over 25 years. After CBCC’s sale to Dignity Health, CBCC-FCW will be dissolved. Dr. Patel wanted to ensure this transportation support continued after the dissolution of CBCC-FCW so the RNP Foundation committed $1m to the KCCF endowment in order to maintain this service. This will allow KCCF to expand its transportation services, which were historically relegated specifically to adolescents, to adults as well as provide funding for other KCCF service lines.
